Salcedo eleito com maior número de votos

O português Jorge Salcedo foi eleito para o Conselho da Associação Europeia de Atletismo.
A votação decorreu em Cannes (França) e elegeu os novos orgãos da Associação Europeia de Atletismo. Aliás esta votação trouxe algumas mexidas nos orgãos já que 10 dos 21 cargos são ocupados por diferentes membros, relativamente aos anteriores. Uma das grandes mexidas ocorreu ao nível dos Vice-Presidentes, onde o espanhol José Luís de Carlos e o norueguês Svein Arne Hansen ocuparão agora esses cargos.
Quanto a Jorge Salcedo foi eleito com 43 votos, mais um que o campioníssimo britânico Jonathan Edwards. Já Abreu Matos, o outro português que era candidato a um cargo, desta feita no Comité de Desenvolvimento, não foi eleito tendo sido o 10º mais votado.
